Gaijin Games may have made a name for themselves with the critically acclaimed Bit.Trip series, but their first self-published game will be something else entirely.

Lilt Line is coming to Nintendo’s WiiWare service and is actually a collaborative effort with developer differentcloth. Apparently they put out an iPhone version already, but Gaijin’s official post about the game calls it “a little taste of what’s to come.”

The soundtrack features Dubstep by 16bit, and you can hear a preview of what to expect by watching the video below. The game won the 2010 Independent Games Festival Mobile Audio Achievement Award, and it’s pretty clear why. Apparently this will be at PAX… we’ll be sure to keep an eye out for it and report back.

We now know that the new version will have exclusive content as well.

There will be an unspecified amount of downloadable levels on the iPhone and iPad, a Namco Bandai representative told Joystiq. Also, there will be multiplayer modes as well, for those who want to Bit.Trip along with their friends.

Bit.Trip BEAT is an incredible game, as evidenced by our glowing review, so iGamers should take note of this release.

Word is that Gaijin Games CEO Alex Neuse will be at PAX… perhaps we’ll ask him about this version when we see him.

Capcom is looking toward the future when it comes not just to zombie games, but their properties in general. They see a future where Dead Rising could unseat Resident Evil as the company’s top franchise.

Keiji Inafune, Capcom’s head of global research and development, spoke with Eurogamer yesterday, and said that the franchise’s ultimate destination is the top of the Capcom food chain, if all goes to plan.

“The goal for Dead Rising 2 is to replace the Resident Evil franchise and become number one IP within Capcom,” Inafune said. “As a creator, the sales and marketing part aside, unless you have a big goal to strive for you can’t create a good game.”

Even with the grand aspirations Capcom has for the series, Dead Rising 3 or even a spin-off aren’t a guarnatee unless Dead Rising 2 does well.

“Until Dead Rising 2 sells we probably can’t start talking about spin-offs. If it’s received pretty well, yes we would consider a sequel. But at the moment we just don’t know.”

This is extra surprising to hear so close to Inafune mentioning the possibility of a Resident Evil 6 announcement in the near future.

Telltale’s recently teased title has been revealed to be Poker Night.

A listing and profile has appeared on Telltale’s website, detailing what will comprise the game.

“Prepare for a different kind of poker night in a very different kind of club,” said the website. “In Poker Night at the Inventory, you’ll deal with Penny Arcade’s clever, cunning Tycho, Team Fortress 2′s hulking Heavy, Homestar Runner’s self-proclaimed ‘awesome icon’ Strong Bad and the hyperkinetic ‘rabbity-thing’ from Sam & Max.

“These characters come together in ways some never thought possible, in a setting few would have predicted. You’ll experience a new style of poker, particularly when hands don’t go the way of the other fiery competitors at the table.

The picture above is of a poster PAX attendees can get their grubby little mitts on by preordering the game at Telltale’s booth. Also, the game costs just under $5.

We’ll swing by the booth and check it out, so stay tuned for more details in the coming days. We also got our hands on some screens, which we’ve made available below.

Mega Man Universe is making an appearance at PAX tomorrow, so you can expect all manners of details throughout the weekend concerning the title from us, since you know, we’re here. The game’s mysterious nature stops here and now, for the most part. A trailer has hit the web and we can now say with certainty how the enigmatic project will play.

Truth be told, it looks like it plays just like a classic Mega Man title. This is a great thing for series fans, though, maybe disappointing if you aren’t into that style of game. Expect to climb ladders, jump on disappearing blocks and die on spikes. A lot.

The game’s use of multiple characters is where things get a little dicey and we still remain in the dark. The video shows off three different versions of Mega Man you can play as, then briefly teases Ryu from Street Fighter without showing how he’ll play.

The official reveal of this trailer came from 1up, but we found a version on Youtube ripped from IGN. Credit where credit’s due, we always say. Also worth noting is that the music in the trailer is done by friends of The Digital Enesmble and Mega Man coverband extraordinaires The Megas.

The original and hilarious teaser trailer can be viewed here.

The news was revealed on Irrational Games’ website. The game will be shown in a panel on Saturday and feature 10 mintues of unreleased footage.

“We are pleased to announce that on Saturday, during our joint panel with Game Informer at Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle, we will be screening that gameplay demonstration to the public for the first time,” said the post.

“The session, ‘From Concept to Cover: The Game Informer Selection Process,’ will feature team members from Game Informer and Irrational discussing how video game magazine covers are chosen, with examples drawn from the upcoming October issue of the magazine.

“We’re looking forward to releasing the footage later this month for everyone to enjoy–and we’ll keep you updated on when and where that will happen once those details are locked down–but PAX attendees who show up for the Game Informer panel will have the first opportunity to see the world of Columbia explored in real-time.”

We’ll do our best to be in attendance for this, so we can relay details to all of you.

Capcom 3 t-shirts and posters will be given to those who win five consecutive matches, Okamiden t-shirts and bracelets will be available, and a Mega Man Universe headband (pictured above) will be available every half-an-hour.

There’s a whole bunch more, so we’ll be sure to grab footage and pictures of everything.

Little is known about what Valve has going on behind closed doors other than the fact that Half Life 2: Episode 3 is being toiled upon in some capacity, possibly by hyper-intelligent beings from the future whose superior brainpower produces incredible game design. Or maybe just by a skilled and ingenius set of humans… whichever. Either way, the developer has promised three surprises will come to be known within the next 12 months.

“I can guarantee you people are going to be surprised at stuff we do,” Valve’s head honcho Game Newell told PC Gamer (via CVG). “That isn’t going to stop any time soon. I’m just laughing because… people will be shocked again.

“We have three pretty big surprises in the next 12 months at least.”

What they could be are as good as anyone’s guess at this point. Valve has an entire year to work with here… hopefully they don’t make us wait too long.
