Extra Guy Forums: Dave - Viewing Profile

I've been wanting to pick up a new DS for a long time (like years) and I like the concept idea of the DSi XL with its increased size. Sure you could say its not as portable, but I don't carry my DS around in my pocket now anyways because I think its too big, plus since I play it mostly at home, the increased size would be kind of nice. I just need to figure out if its worth the extra money for the larger screen. My original DS is definitely showing decreased battery life, and the screen just isn't as nice, so I could really use an upgrade.

Also I should note that yes I've seen the announcement of a new DS coming out, and no it doesn't influence my decision with regards to picking up the DSi. As far as I can tell, we won't be seeing a new DS come out for at least another year, and even then, unless it has a new Pokemon game coming out with it, I'll probably be waiting a bit. Plus even if it does have a new Pokemon game coming with it, I can justify the purchase since its a whole new system and again, its not for another year.

Just through I'd see if anyone watched the awards tonight. I didn't actually watch the show, but I am pretty excited about a bunch of games they showed off. I know for sure I'll be picking up a few games that definitely include UFC 2010, Batman, Mass Effect 2, Halo Reach and Force Unleashed 2. I was really surprised to see the Batman and Force Unleashed sequels announced but I think it's completely awesome since Batman was probably my favorite game of the year, and Force Unleashed was one of my favorite games from last year.

So is anyone else picking this up when it comes out? I preordered mine at Amazon so I could get the $10 dollar video game credit which kind of sucks since I won't get it till at least Tuesday. Also, does anyone know if this is gonna work online or is the multiplayer local only? I didn't dig into it too much yet but I hadn't seen anything.
