I agree, hence the Trojan Horse theory cited above. If I recall correctly, Apple only began to market the iPhone/iTouch as a gaming device long AFTER the devices were already successful. I could definitely see the same thing happening with the iPad, but I still think excitement surrounding the device won't reach the same fever pitch the smaller devices did.

I agree with you that it's unlikely the iPad will (initially) sell in large numbers to people primarily interested in playing games. I think it will be successful, though, in the sense that it will sell a very large number of games to people who bought it for some other reason. Almost no one bought an iPhone for games, though the availability of a large number of games for it is perceived as a strength. It would be more reasonable to think of it using the PC model than the console model; the fact that the PC market even exists never really made sense to the hardcore console types.

Roger Ebert is an awkward old man who talks like a woman from the 60s. I've got a fun idea for a game: press X to see his jowls billow in the wind.

My Wii was stolen and I didn't care so much as to inform the police. Not that I would ever turn to the corrupt law-evading agents who routinely ruin lives and happy families in the same casual way that you or I might scratch an itch or eat when we are hungry.

I hope the next Nintendo console offers a tighter interface, a serious online platform, and some semblance of modern graphical technology. Waving around a stick is probably the exact opposite of fun, unless I'm killing zombies with it, or cracking piñatas full of naked women and Xbox 360s.

The next Lady Gaga album will actually be released by Miley Cyrus. Avatar 2 will be made by your mom, set in AFRICA just like DISTRICT 9. By the way THAT sequel is going to be released ONLY on iTunes in 3 easy installments, each for $9.99. Even I'm going to be selling my full name and girlfriend in the 3rd quarter of this year. I'm negotiating with some women about being their new husband, sans a new name.

Hey, let's not forget that we don't actually want video games to be a respected art. It's supposed to be super-commercialized and passed around. Every developer should take a stab at Halo! MarioKart 64? Pfft. More like pass that shit to an adult software company. Mario Kart 69, in which Bowser finally gets that fuzzy peach.

I liked some aspects of Adventures so much that I played about a third of the title. 60% of that was painfully boring and tedious. I eventually gave up. An open range RPG game would have been cool if I had the ability to call in my Arwing to get to other places to unravel the story and find objects. Like Zelda, but with a plane instead of a horse. For a company that owns Mario, Zelda, and Samus, I don't think Starfox will ever be important enough to get reworked into something worth buying.

It could be like a Halo Wars thing. I think they will be going down the road of not doing more FPS games with their third developer and explore other game genres.

Infinity Ward is clearly the go to people when it comes to FPS. Treyarch tried with World at War but they pretty much copied everything IW did anyways so the originality factor was not there and it showed as game sales were not very successful (when compared to other major FPS games) with this title
