Retro City Rampage release narrowed, PSN & Steam versions revealed

Say what you will about how long it’s taken Retro City Rampage to come out, but you can’t knock Vblank’s hustle. The game was originally slated for WiiWare until an Xbox Live Arcade version was added to the list. Now it has been revealed that the game is coming out pretty much everywhere else as well.

Vblank’s Brian Provinciano is hoping for a simultaneous launch across WiiWare, XBLA, Steam, and the Playstation Network (on both the Playstation 3 and Vita) this May. This is a pretty impressive task for what is basically a one-man development team, especially since the PSN versions are self-published.

Steam users can preorder the game at the official site, which will also net a 20 percent discount on Fangamer’s Retro City Rampage Collection.

Here’s our hands-on impressions of the game from PAX Prime 2010. We can safely say we had a great time with that build, so we can only imagine how much fun the full version will be.
