Didn’t really see this one coming, but it looks like soon you’ll be able to get your hands on a version of Street Fighter IV made exclusively for the iPhone. IGN reported today that Capcom is set to bring the title to iPhone users sometime in March. Obviously you won’t have any physical buttons, and from the pictures they supplied it looks like you’ll be using the standard iPhone layout of controlling the joystick and buttons on the screen. Bluetooth multiplayer will be available so you’ll have the opportunity to play against your friends locally, but not too many other details have been unveiled. The full character list as well as any other additional features will more than likely be unveiled in the coming weeks so we’ll keep you posted as we hear the news.
Street Fighter IV Making Its Way to the iPhone

When I covered this over at X-ism, I couldn’t even get exited about this. As much as I like Street Fighter, I can’t, for the life of me, understand why they would put so much effort into an iPhone version of the game while Wii, DS and PSP fans are left in the cold. The game might be impressive in what they can pull off as far as getting the game squeezed onto the small iPhone platform but who really wants to play that crap?
Yeah, this is funny given how much we’ve been talking about gaming on Apple devices. With all the discussion of what’s great, they go and try to shoehorn this in? Who’s going to buy this besides the people who like to play as ‘that green guy with the electricity’?
Yeah, I can’t imagine the precision required to play something like Street Fighter being available with touch-screen controls like those. I’m sure they’ll make a killing, but Mike is right, there are better systems out there for this.
