Digital distribution has been the target of the ire of cost-conscious gamers since nickel-and-diming became known as “microtransactions,” but it can be a good thing if a developer fixes flaws in a product and releases them for free. Gaijin Games has released an update for their WiiWare title, Bit.Trip Beat, making an already awesome game even better.

The update doesn’t add any content but it fixes a few of the games flaws, namely the purple boxes and their lack of visibility. Apparently you can see them clearly now. Gaijin Games released the following statement, which also revealed that Bit.Trip Void will be hitting the US on November 23.

The update includes some changes to the level unlocking scheme as well as general game functionality improvements. In short, if you’ve downloaded BIT.TRIP BEAT, you’re gonna want to download this update. And it’s free to update, so what’re ya waiting for!?

This update won’t affect your savegame data, but it will affect your overall awesomeness as a human being. And playing some more BEAT is great practice for BIT.TRIP VOID, coming out on 11/23/09 in the States!
