This has been flying around the tubes, but just in case you live under a rock: next month, Netflix is coming to the PS3. Big deal, right? Except that unlike the 360 version where you need to be an Xbox Live Gold member, this will be, er, free (assuming you have a Netflix account, of course). Not only that, but you’ll actually be able to manage your queue like a real human being instead of having to wade through the 360’s crippled ‘here are some [genre] movies’ interface.
Granted, at least at first you’ll need a disc to use the service (which you can sign up for right here), but for me that’s not as big of a hassle as going to my computer to add things to my queue. Your mileage may vary, of course, but seeing as how little I play on Xbox Live now, I think this might sound the death knell for my annual Gold subscription: I can use my PS3 for Netflix and buy months of Live ala carte.
